almost 3 weeks. still struggling.
got his “in the fight” shirt back from the laundry. he was wearing it before he called the ambulance. i remember giving it to him, unsure of if he would like it…. and his eyes lit up and he said “this is great!” and he (we) vowed to kick this trashy ass diseases ass.
he wore that shirt with such pride and hope, such a positive attitude and loved wearing it to chemo and telling the other patients his daughter gave it to him. (so i hear)
i have this shirt again.
i have someone else in my life “in the fight”.
she will get this shirt.
she will wear it with her positive attitude and her middle finger right up to that fuckin asshole called Cancer’s face.
i WILL give her the “survivor” shirt i never got to give to my dad. <3
((this song i played @ my dad’s memorial 2 weeks ago, and despite contrary statements cancer is not what killed my father, it was goddamn blood thinners))
tapes!
i have a couple of notebooks that have covers almost identical to this. i like it. i miss mixtapes. i was a mixtape master.
This one goes out to everyone who has recently been diagnosed with cancer, who is battling cancer or who is a survivor. Anyone who has passed away. Anyone who has a loved one, a friend or family member who is going through this horrific battle or has unfortunately passed on. You are not alone in this. One day we will end this. Fuck cancer.
i love this.
my dad would have loved it too. <3 RIP
fuck.
cancer.
my favorite song by The Vibrators = “baby baby”
a love song by some punks. <3
favorite FLIPPER song, “ha ha ha” enjoy the noise
Rolling Stone magazine callls Marc Maron’s book ‘attempting normal’ - “the stuff of comedy legend”,
the same week Maron’s book & tv show on IFC arrives, Louis CK is on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine with the caption of “the dirty wisdom of…CK” (his head on the cover looks life size!)
interesting parallels considering their past, and both having tv programs with some variation of their name as the title. I’m glad they are relatively friends again. 2 of my top stand ups ever.((I haven’t read either yet!))
mooninite stickers. can’t wait to put on my car, then I won’t have to user middle finger so much. I’ve got mooninites to do it for me!
sometimes you just gotta cry to get all the shit out.
like watching Where the Wild Things Are. i can’t watch that film without bawling my eyes out. I’m so dried out. I don’t need any more pain, but i need to know peace exists and suffering ends.
Easily one of my Dad’s most played songs, this video is hilarious!!!!
(and yes the behavior with his wife is just shtick!)
